What we are asking of our elected leaders…

We call on Australian governments to:

  • Cut our greenhouse gas emissions by 60% by 2020, 90% by 2030, and to zero by 2050,  when measured against 1990 levels
  • Set a 100% renewable energy target for 2020
  • End Australian dependence on coal by 2030

We do not support the current form of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) as it benefits big polluters.

In achieving these measures we call on the state and federal governments to fund the development of geothermal, tidal, wind and solar power and not to pursue nuclear energy on the basis that it is too hazardous and represents too great a security risk.
